Canadian punks Billy Talent have announced that they will headline a special matinee show at London's Barfly on August 21. The band join the likes of Aiden, Enter Shikari, Gallows and Funeral For A Friend as part of the week of Kerrang! Awards Shows spectacular.
"We're really stoked that we've been asked to play a show like this," says vocalist Ben Kowalewicz. "We've always loved the intimacy of club shows. Shows like this are where we grew up and they're probably where we'll die. Hopefully the people that are there will be true, diehard fans that we can hang out with, and everyone will have an awesome time. We're gonna kill it!"
The unusually early slot doesn't seem to phase the frontman, though.
"It's like a matinee!" laughs Kowalewicz. "We've done shows during the day before, but for me - especially when you're playing club shows - it should be dark out. Whatever, though. We'll make it work. I'm sure we'll figure out something fun and a little bit special for it!"
Tickets for the Billy Talent show are on sale today from 6PM and are priced at £15 each. Doors open at 12 noon and the band will hit the stage at 2.15pm.
