Machine Head are true hard rock heroes, if it wasn't for bands like Metallica Slayer in the 80's & for Machine Head, Pantera & Sepultura in the 90's bands like Slipknot, A7X & Trivium wouldn't be around. As for that person who says Metal is dead, real metal has survived Punk, Grunge, Nu-Metal, Metalcore & it will survive Emo.

I have only been a fan of Machine Head for a short while, their song 'Days Turn Blue to Grey' was ultimate, but they were very much at the background.
But then came The Blackening.
Also their DVD they released for Through the Ashes of Empires lent to me by a well coolios friend. Their story has always been an inspiration since.
