Kerrang suck! They know damn well that Elliot Minor were one of the better bands out of the nominees for best newcomer. But who do they give the award to?Some random unknowns! Its like Slaves to Gravity?who are they when there at home like? I'm so gutted Minor didn't win.But never mind,all the fans know they are amazing and great at what they do.Its just a shame Kerrang always fail to realise this....
I've never heard of the band that won either! Elliot Minor really did deserve to get an award, but if Kerrang are just gonna slate them then how can we trust them to give EM an award? Dawn, I have read Kerrang from day one(26yrs?) so I know a bit about rock music and while we're bragging I'm a mum too, aren't we clever?? The members of Slaves To Gravity were playing rock music when EM's mums were wiping their snotty noses! EM are manufactured pop rock, STG have worked mega hard for years to get where they are and deserve every award they get. Why do you feel the need to call people names? What a lovely bunch of people you are, your band must be soooo proud of you! You say I've not given EM a chance(heard them many a time).....have you guys actually given STG a chance? Obviously not if you've never heard of them! Maybe manufactured was a bit strong but don't tell me their record company aren't pouring money into pushing them and on stuff like stylists etc creating an image to make up an attractive looking band aimed at all the teenagers out there....would they be where they were if they all looked like Rick Waller? I know they play all their own instruments and write songs but alot of it is about image with them too. STG need none of that, they are themselves playing good old fashioned, solid, rock music. Try losing gracefully, you are showing yourselves up!

Hannah, I wasn't implying it was a battle and I agree, you haven't slated them, I wasn't getting at you personally but there are a lot of EM fans who are being totally disrespectful and can't accept someone else won over them, its childish. I have nothing at all against EM, ask anyone and they will tell you I respect any band even if I'm not into them. I was watching EM this afternoon on KTV and actually said I admire them for playig their own instruments and writing their own songs. In all my comments I've not slagged the band off at all, I only had a go at your fellow fans who can't accept they never won and taking it out on STG as a result. Look, EM fans are very dedicated, no offence but you have NO idea, and yeah sometimes the more obsessive ones get a little bit more ... possesive, but not them all, and they certainly dont deserve to be slagged off. Elliot Minor are anamazing band who are also genuinely nice people. I have met a lot of amazing friends because of them, so no matter how they do in awards shows, they will always be number on for me!!!!

Votes or not, Kerrang! get the final say on who wins the Award. It doesn't matter whether STG or Elliot Minor got the more votes. Kerrang! made a decision to give STG the award. It has shit all to do with voting, really. 'Minor aren't really even newcomers, they've been around for a while now. I'm not a huge fan of STG, they're stuff is alright, but I am an Elliot Minor fan, and I'm not bothered in the slightest they lost this. Kerrang! is corporate bullshit now and personally 'Minor don't give two shits either, trust me. If the band don't care, then neither should the fans.
