Tom is right. Avenged Sevenfold are shit. Their album is unimaginative bullshit, which is so many steps backwards from their previous albums. Cancer Bats should have won the award, purely for the immense energy displayed in their album (and no hints of cheese). Bullet should have lost to Biffy Clyro, but again, its all over who is more popular, and who creates a more mainstream, generic sound, not over who creates better music. I mean, Puzzle is one of the best albums of the decade. Bullet have never been great, its only songs like tears don't fall and waking the demon that make them special. They just don't have enough of those songs. 30STM should have lost to Coheed and Cambria for their excellent finish to the saga, rather than the dull pop songs of 30STM that only Jared Leto loves. That leaves us with Dillinger Escape Plan. A7X, Bullet and 30STM don't even deserve to share a stage with these legends unless they are sweeping it.

They should have won more, but hey, I'm glad they at least got this as opposed to nothing. Dillinger is a really special band who deserves all the praise they can get. I have a feeling their power and influence is going to be more felt after their gone actually...and people will be like "Damn, they really WERE amazing."
Best thing about these guys is that they don't care about the politics and just go for the throat. Some of these other bands are ok but honestly I feel like Dillinger are more peers with the bands like Rage and Metalica then A7X or Bullet.

ok i dont like Kerrang! becoz they dont cover any new decent bands its always a new emo band, bands with fringes, bands 14 y/o prepubescent will 'fall in love' with the lead singer. its pathetic the way the musics being treated nowadays, coz most people judge the band on their looks not there fuckin music which is much more important. i just recently started up a horror punk band with my mate, i know we aint gonna be big and i dont plan to be, but one thing i do know is our fans wont be image obessed dicks becoz we dont look 'hot' and thats one thing that makes me happy coz they are the fans we dont want. and to name you 2 magazines better than Kerrang! kerrang has nothing on these magazines

I dont see how you can even place DEP, A7X, 30STM in the same sentence. DEP is in no way similar to A7X and 30STM. A7X is a glam rock band and 30STM is a Hollywood rock band. DEP is on Relapse along with Misery Index, Necrophagist, Genghis Tron and a ton of other excellent bands. I member seeing A7X like six years ago at a Vans Warped Tour and at that point they weren't wearing all the makeup they wear now, but I knew that they would turn into what they are now a tool of a band for 13 year old girls.
I honestly started reading Kerrang because of the Dillinger cover. Now I still read to because a lot of the bands are funny looking and I can occasionally find out when like Dillinger or Converge are playing a show. Good job DEP you deserve this award!

Dillinger is the only deserving band mentioned. What are the chances A7x, BFMV and 30Seconds all mistake Kerrang awards for the teen choice awards. I'm surprised they didn't try to buy the award from alexisonfire, whom are also pretty good. Jared Leto is a hell of an actor though.

hello gothess, thanks at least for writing back without a swear word or insult. but yeah, i wear band merch of course but im not supporting this whole "scene" thing. the majority of these scene people own no albums, they just download their favourite tracks and dress in black claiming they are metal gods. real supporters buy albums and go to gigs. when bands like dillinger gain mainstream success, it means they must perform to a wider audience and every new album must differ and it always becomes mediocre and melodic to suit the media.
